ABOUT COVEN OF THE OLD PATH:
COP is a newly forming learning coven for those new to Wicca and who wish to learn in a traditional coven setting. We'll embrace the path of traditional Wicca, following the Lord and the Lady through the Wheel of the Year. The coven will additonally focus on teaching the traditions of the Celtic, Greco-Roman and Egyptian pantheons, as well as others, and each coven member will be encouraged to find the tradition that calls to him or her, making this an eclectic group.
Initially this is will be a teaching coven, with the intent to form into a close-knit, coherent working coven, with everyone comfortable with working with each other. While the learning and practice of magick and witchcraft is of course a part and parcel of being Wiccan, our emphasis, our focus, our purpose, is of the spiritual... the connection with the Lord and the Lady, and the spark of Deity that is within us all. Anyone seeking to join the Coven because it's "so cool to be a witch" should apply elsewhere; that is NOT what Wicca is about.
While children of coven members will be welcome at certain larger rituals by the consent of all, the coven is by and for adults. College students are welcome, however, as is anyone over the age of 18.
We abide always by the Wiccan Rede of "harm none," and we'll spend a great deal of time in contemplating the wider implications of this.
While no fee is charged, ever, students will be required to obtain and maintain a personal Book of Shadows, and to purchase such (few) books as are needed for the classes and supplies for their assignments (such as candles, incenses, etc.). It must be understood that participation in classes as well as Sabbats, at the very least, is expected, and required.
ABOUT THE HIGH PRIESTESS:
Shemah is 49 years old, and a long-time eclectic witch. She was with Coven Blue Moon in S. Cal, a member coven of Covenant of the Goddess (COG), for seven years and obtained a second degree in the Artemisian tradition. See her personal website at ShemahOnline.
